The local area
Gîte Barané welcomes you in the South-West of France. The domain lies in the foothills of the Pyrenees where the "Gascogne" and the "Languedoc" meet, where the paths to "St Jacques de Compostelle" cross the Cathar routes.
The farm surrounding the "gîte" is worked bio-dynamically. The "Lèze" which has its source at the lake of "Mondély" runs along the lower part of the farm. The limestone chain "Plantaurel", foot-mountains of the Pyrenees, borders it on the Northside.
Our fields, meadows and forest are refuge to a rich and varied plant and animal life.
